provenance

Audley Square derives its name from Hugh Audley (1577-1662) who in the early 17th century acquired an extensive landholding called Ebury from the 1st Earl of Middlesex, part of which would later be developed into Mayfair. His extensive landholdings later passed through to his great grandniece, Mary Davies, wife of Sir Thomas Grosvenor.

Mary’s Audley inheritance greatly enriched the Grosvenor family giving them the presence they have in Mayfair to this present day. Under the Grosvenor family, Mayfair became a focus for affluent landowners and merchants, its architecture reflecting their desire for lavish and opulent London homes.

Elegant London townhouse in historic Mayfair square

Earlcrown undertook the complete refurbishment of an elegant Grade II listed Mayfair townhouse including a link into an adjoining property to create a spacious and luxurious London residence with an abundance of lateral living space. Set out over 6 floors, the new 9,000 sqft (836 sqm) property includes a luxurious basement swimming pool and spa complex, substantial reception rooms and a palatial master bedroom suite, which occupies the entire second floor and spreads across into the adjoining merged property.
